DEN1801 - Update in Dentistry 2018
Program Description
Complications (bleeding, infection, pain etc.) associated with dental treatment are relatively common and can have devastating and sometimes all-consuming consequences for patients but equally so for practitioners. The efforts required to manage complications far outweigh those required to prevent them. Yet, even with the best practice approaches, complications can still develop and must be managed successfully and expeditiously. This one day symposium will focus on avoidance of complications; principally by outlining appropriate treatment planning strategies for various conditions. Given that complications will still occur from time to time, our speakers will concentrate on management of a wide array of these problems. Experts in oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, endodontics, prosthodontics as well as experts in the routine management of medically complex patients will give insights regarding appropriate treatment planning for patients. These experts will also discuss approaches towards mitigation of problems arising should complications occur.
At the end of the symposium participants will have a better understanding of the cause of various types of complications, how to avoid them and if they do occur, how to treat them.
