Program Description

The course is intended for potential buprenorphine-treatment front-line clinicians, with little or no experience with treatment of opioid use disorder and dependence.
This on-line course walks the learner through various aspects of initiating and maintaining a patient with opioid use disorder and dependence on buprenorphine/naloxone maintenance treatment. This includes: diagnosis, consideration of treatment options, urine toxicology, induction process, maintenance dose, take home doses and missed doses. A blend of narrative, videos, short answer and multiple choice questions frame the course. The CAMH clinical buprenorphine guidelines (2011) are directly linked to the course and additional references are used throughout.
