Program Description

This one day course reflects CAMH's commitment to  health equity as a central focus of the organization. the course reflects health equity strategies that are directly linked to client/community centered care, the reduction of health disparities and inclusive access to care for all. 
the material guides the participant to ensure health equity involves a process of addressing the social, cultural, environmental and economic disparities directly linked to communities experiencing health disparities. At the same time, health equity can also be understood as all individuals and communities having equitable health outcomes and access to health care services.  The course entails content pertaining to the ideal health equity goal of a commitment to the elimination of all health disparities and “ensuring equitable access to the high-quality health care to all clients regardless of race, language, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, immigration status, literacy, sexual orientation, income, age or ability.”   To achieve full health equity, organizations, communities and participants of this course can together vision and engage in implementing inclusive, equitable, welcoming and diverse approaches to leadership, service delivery, human resource, organizational development and partnership strategies.
