Program Description

The theme of this year’s conference is “Current State of Being” within the Ontario Death Investigation System, specifically show-casing the importance of integration and systemic collaboration from a multifaceted medical management perspective. The program will begin on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 and conclude on Friday, November 17th, 2017. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in an interactive and integrated curriculum which will include smaller breakout sessions, providing an opportunity to discuss and share experiences. Topics to be addressed, but are not limited to include Opioids – Substance Related Death Investigation, Medical Assistance in Dying Module, Autopsy Findings and The Pathology of Elder Abuse and Neglect. Participants will take away valuable information which will greatly be of assistance to them in their respective field of work.

Through a series of lectures, group and panel discussions we will explore this interesting and relevant topic over the course of two and a half days.

The conference will be held at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Downsview Ontario – 25 Morton Shulman Avenue, Toronto ON.
