Program Description

This is an innovative one-day interprofessional course aimed at health care professionals who work with children and youth with co-occurring mental and physical health care needs.  The course provides health care professionals with the opportunity to engage in simulation based education to gain a better understanding of what to do during the assessment and management of children and youth presenting to various health care settings with co-occurring mental and physical health care needs.

Participants will be involved in a series of simulated scenarios using actors. Debriefing models are employed to encourage participants to reflect on their actions and behaviours during the scenarios and assist them to learn positively and constructively from the experience and from others in the interprofessional team.
