Program Description

The Lindsay-Thomson Symposium is an annual scientific meeting hosted by the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children.  It is a 1-day symposium that includes didactic learning from research paper presentation, and an invited keynote speaker featuring the Vale lecture in Paediatric Craniofacial Surgery, to showcase the most recent advances in paediatric plastic surgery, microsurgery and craniofacial surgery. An internationally renowned professor in plastic and reconstructive surgery is chosen to give the Vale lecture. In addition to the keynote lecture, this visiting professor engages in a pre or post symposium day of small group and dyadic learning with our trainees (fellows, residents) in the SickKids Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
The participants of the symposium will have the opportunity to learn from an international and local inter-disciplinary faculty. The partnerships on this symposium include the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Communication Disorders, Division of Dentistry and Department of Orthodontics at the Hospital for Sick Children.
