The goal of the 58th annual Walter Wright Symposium will be to provide practical and comprehensive pearls for the resident, fellow, community and academic ophthalmologist and allied health personnel on optimizing outcomes of cataract surgery.
Using a combination of didactic lectures, expert panel discussion, text polling, breakfast with the experts and debates on controversial topics, world-renowned experts will update the audience on the following topics:
- Co-morbidities that the comprehensive ophthalmologist deals with when performing cataract surgery, including glaucoma, retina, cornea/ocular surface, neuro-ophthalmology/strabismus and uveitis
- Incorporating advanced technologies and pharmacology
- Challenges and controversies
- Complication management
- Anterior segment reconstruction; and
- Controversial issues
At the end of this symposium, participants will be able to incorporate the following new information into their offices on Monday morning:
- Identify how common co-morbidities can effect cataract surgery and how to deal effectively with these co-morbidities to optimize surgical outcomes
- Assess the benefits of advanced technologies and pharmacology on their cataract surgery patients
- Recognize different management approaches to challenging situations that present during cataract surgery and how to most effectively manage complications
